When you sleep, if you are one of the many people who snore, this palate can literally "collapse", or "cave in", being drawn down toward the bottom of your mouth. All professional singers must exercise their palate for this very reason: to keep their air passages wide open, because this helps boost their singing capability.
Tongue - When people who snore lie flat on their back at night while they sleep, the force of gravity will draw their tongue downward, backward into the throat. This creates a blockage which obviously causes snoring. There are a series of tongue-strengthening exercises, that involve things such as pressing against the roof of your mouth with your tongue, or trying to do a "tongue twister".
Gradually, over the course of time, if you were to practice these types of exercises on a regular basis, you will see a significant reduction in your snoring, until one day it will be completely eliminated.
